In the summer of 2016, Mickey Saso decided it was time to pass on the quality and legacy of Wingsetter Duck Calls to someone who was as passionate about waterfowl hunting as he was. Now based out of Yolo County, California and owned by a successful local farming family, Wingsetter is being passed on to a new generation of Waterfowl enthusiasts. These high quality, durable plastic calls are 100% handmade in the USA, a fact that makes all the difference.
The Wingsetter legacy starts with it’s designer and founder, 25 Time Pacific Flyway Calling Champion, Mickey Saso. Born in 1945 in Modesto, California, Mickey has been an avid hunter since his first hunting trip at the Modesto Reservoir in 1954. Mickey began competing in the Pacific Flyway Calling Competitions in early 1970’s and went on to compete in over 30 competitions, taking the Championship in 25 of them. Also a bass fishing enthusiast and competitor, Mickey still occasionally competes in tournaments. After 63 years of hunting and fishing, Mickey says he has loved every hunting trip because each one is different. If he could impart any advice on hunters it would be to always wear ear protection, it will save your hearing down the road.
